The National Memorial Arboretum are inviting young people from schools across the country to attend their Thank You Youth Festival.
The free to attend day will explore the invaluable legacy of the First World War generation and will allow young people the opportunity to say their own Thank You to the generation of people who served, sacrificed and changed the world forever.
They will learn about the radical social and technological changes that took place during this key period in our countrys history. From the women who served, furthering the rights of many women around the world today, the life saving surgeons who pioneered amazing new medical practices, to the widespread use of everyday items, including the zip, the wristwatch, drone flight and daylight savings time, the legacy and impact of the First World War is far reaching.
The workshops will include a mixture of facilitated and self-led activities, with each school being expected to select at least one self-led session.
